On the best of days, it's a 2-hour train ride. However, in recent months, it's taken me up to 5 hours on many days. I commute from Dublin Belfast three times a week, and it's been an absolute nightmare recently. If you have to get from one city to the other in a certain amount of time, don't depend on the train service.

Michael,
I posted a long repky yesterday but the site seems to have ate it up. Neither Ryanair or Aer Lingus fly from Dublin to Belfast but British Midland may so check with them. There is a lot of disruption to the train service at the moment between Dublin and Belfast so while I would normally suggest that route you may be better off flying or even taking the bus ( a long journey)

Hope this helps,

Cathy

Michael;

There is no service from Dublin to Belfast, however Aer Lingus do have a New York flight that routes New York - Shannon - Belfast and return. I am sure it would be no problem buying tickets for the Shannon to Belfast service. Driving time should be approx 3 hours. Need anmore help or info, please contact me
