Direct CDG Roissy to Avignon?
Now I am at my wit's end and need help. My group needs to travel from CDG airport to Avignon in the afternoon of Saturday, Sept. 20th. I have tried to book TGV but SNCF insists that the only connection includes 2 changes and lasts something like 6 hours. I don't believe this can be true, but how do you advice me? I have seen a timetable listing a TGV departing at 13.58 but the booking system fails to find that train. Please help!

Just checked for a Saturday afternoon in July and find some direct TGVs (13h58, 16h58, 19h28) and others in between with 1 change.
Make sure you have the stations entered correctly and it may be that they don't have the full schedule up yet for your dates. But you should be able to get direct trains, if not now, then wait a bit and keep checking.

I checked as well and found the same times and duration, just under 3 hours, as Mme Perdu, used this website:
http://www.voyages-sncf.com
The schedule does not yet have the prices posted or availability to book. This is unusual (to me) because your date is inside the 3- month window. It does give you the option to leave your email address to be notified when the prices are available.
You might try CDG to Aix en Provence non-stop, which is then about an hour from Arles by road.

I just checked voyages-sncf for Sept. 20th and the afternoon trains from CDG that depart at 13:58 and later are showing as "non ouvert". This means that tickets for those trains haven't gone on sale yet. Usually when this happens it is because there are works on the line. It is possible they haven't finalized the work schedule and those tickets may go on sale at some as yet undetermined point in the future. I would just save yourself the headache and do as suggested by Adrienne and take the AirFrance bus to Gare de Lyon and take the TGV to Avignon from there.
