Dinner Near Westminster OR Earl's Court Area

Hello all....quick question as I'm 'touching up' our itinerary for May.

I'm looking for a place to have a decent meal, 2 adults 3 kids (15, 11 and 11). We're doing alot of sandwiches etc during the day and would like to go out for a meal our last night in London.

We will be ending our day in/around Westminster Abbey, but can always wait until we get back near the hotel in the Earl's Court area (or even hop off the tube between the two!).

Unless I'm being overly optimistic, I'd like to keep the cost at around 100-150GBP for the meal.

We're not very picky eaters, the picky one can almost always find something she likes on any menu. Some types of food we would not be opposed to are Greek, Italian, Indian, French etc.

Any restaurant suggestions?

Thanks!!

Rose

We stayed in the Earl's Court area during our last two trips to London. (At the Rushmore Hotel.) There is a great little family owned Italian restaurant just outside of the Earl's Court Tube stop on Earls Court Road. (I can't remember the name of it, but they had some good food. I think it was Luigi's) More upscale (and more expensive) on the same road in the other direction, is another Italian place but quite honestly the food was better at the first place.

So what hotel are you staying at?
We loved the Rushmore.

Mr. Green,

You may be thinking of Zizzi's, it is close to the tube station and is very good. I stayed there this past September. In fact, it was so good that my friend and I went back a second time. We were tired and didn't feel like looking for a different place, and it was quite good.

It's located near the Starbucks.

We are staying at the Windsor House Hotel, it's on Penywern Road.

I think that my mom and I stayed one night very near here a few years ago. Niether one of us can remember it if was Earl's Court or not! We stayed over in London on our way home from Yorkshire.

We did go to a little Italian place, the food was very, very good. I remember that they used a dumbwaiter to get the food, the kitchen was either upstairs or down, not sure which. No clue what the name was, but I do remember there was a Steakhouse of sorts across the street on the corner. It reminded me of a Texas Roadhouse or Lonestar type of place.

Thanks so much for the information!

mamarosa,

You must be thinking of a different Italian restaurant than I am, because the one I went to, the kitchen was right on the same floor. Since it was very nice weather when I was there, the restaurant was basically opened to the outside, the large window/doors were totally open. It was a very nice restaurant.

We went to Zizzi's, but that isn't the place I'm thinking of. The place I am thinking of is more like a hole-in-the-wall place in the other direction from the Earl's Court Road tube exit. It is close to the bookstore.

Zizzi's was nice, too though.

Thanks to both of you lyb and MrGreen. We will certainly look for both Zizzi's and the hole-in-the-wall close to teh bookstore.

I appreciate your comments and information!
