Can anyone suggest a resasonably priced resturant in Monaco for a great meal? Also which casino are a must see

We went to "The" Casino and did quite poorly on the machines. We are not of the "highroller" type, so we didn't play any of the table games. Oddly enough, we didn't pack black tie attire either.

Sadly, I don't know the name of either the casino or restaurant names... but I can give you easy directions.

Restaurant: If standing facing away from "The" Casino, the restaurant we enjoyed was just ahead and to the right. It is possible to go for drinks or a full meal. The seating location varies based on what you plan to order. The service was good and the food was excellent. We were staying in Nice and were fearful that we would miss the last train out. I explained that to our waiter and he was able to make suggestions of what would allow us to catch our train without worries. I had a dish similar to boeuf bourgignon with delicious noodles. It was terrific comfort food.

Regarding our casino experience, we had much better luck with the machines at the casino just past the restaurant. Once again, if looking away from the main casino, it is across the street on the right side. If you walk more than 2 minutes, there are either tons of people around or you have walked too far.

I hope someone can give you clearer directions... but it is a start.

As for the actual question, I will try to locate some (old) threads on which I have made mention of restaurants ?I have tried. I'm not sure ther are more than two casinos in Monte Carlo - - &quot;the&quot; casino, and the one in the aforementioned hotel (just to the right, &quot;in the curve&quot; - - I actually think that one of the resaturants where I have eaten... on a terraace... was in that same hotel).

And while I'm here I thought I'd add... Although I didn't find the entire museum fascinating, the Jacques Cousteau aquarium is amazing. It is quite close to the casino. You may wish to spend an hour or two viewing the exhibit.

The Jacques Cousteau Aquarium is definitely worth a short visit.

As you face the building, if you take the footpaths to your right, you will enter a park/garden that offers breathtaking views of the Aquarium (build on the side of a cliff).

If you continue along the path, you will come to St. Nicholas Cathedral, where Princess Grace is buried.

The building on the right where the meal was eaten and which has terraces is the Cafe de Paris. They actually also have a casino inside (recently revamped).

There are two more casinos in the Fairmont Hotel (the one in the bend), one on the ground floor, one on the top floor. You just walk round the back of the casino to the roof of the Fairmont Hotel, or down through the gardens to the right to the main entrance. The Fairmont used to be called the Grand and the Loews before that.

&quot;le Casino&quot; is the Monte-Carlo Casino, and the definitely the first one to try.

Besides the Cafe De Paris, can anyone else recommend any other good but reasonably priced restaurants in Monaco (where you don't have to wear a tie)? Also, and fun bars/cafe's to have wine/beer and people watch?
