Dijon/Burgundy side trip from Paris
My boyfriend and I plan to spend a few days in Paris in early April and then take a train to Dijon where we would rent a car and explore the Dijon and Burgundy regions. Does anyone have any advice for us regarding where to stay (we're not too picky except for wanting things to be clean), what to see (especially wineries!) and where to eat. This will be our first time in France and since we are wine lovers and enjoy travelling through the countryside, we thought this would be a great side trip from Paris. Any ideas or recommendations would be most appreciated.

Daphne,
My wife and I did a day tour of the wine region just outside Dijon with a company called "Wine and Voyages." It is run by an American ex-pat that lives in the area. I believe her name is Carolyn Delee.

They do have a website that I'm sure you can find on any search engine.

I would contact her as she might be willing to help with arrangements. There is a nice villa type hotel just outside Dijon (the name escapes me.) You may even want to do her afternoon tour just get a sense of the region and the locations of some of the better vinyards for tastings.

All may not be generally open to the public.

for ptmy: Thanks to you to for the great website! I've printed out the Wine and Voyages site as well as the one you suggested to show my boyfriend (he doesn't have a computer!). After searching all over the web, we seem to have found exactly what we've been looking for right here at fodors on Travel Talk. No need to search further! Thanks to all the seasoned travellers who post here, we are sure to enjoy our first trip to France even more.
