Destination help?

We love Florence and I am wondering what in Spain compares? I guess I should ask what city would compare in the following aspects

1) Easily walkable
2) Great food
3) Shopping
4) History/Architecture
5) Art

I was thinking Barcelona sounds great but I am not sure if it is too "big". As we weren't as big of fans of Rome.

Hi; Seville meets all your criteria. See www.maribelsguides.com/ We leave for Portugal and Spain in ONE hour. Weather looks great, except for some showers on Saturday. iris1745/dick

Well I REALLY like Barcelona - what is great to me about that city is there is a variety "scenes". There is the Old City with sort of a medieval atmosphere, then the Exiemple with the Gaudi (and others) buildings, then the port and beach area. Add a variety of museums (mostly modern art tho), La Sagrada familia and Parc Guell - there is so much to see and do. Plus there are quite a few convenient day trips you can do from there. I have been several times and still feel I would like to return. The public transportation is good - you can get to the different areas and then do the walking. And the food is wonderful! the tapas, lots of seafood, traditional Spanish cuisine and cutting edge chefs if that is what you are looking for. In my dreams I hope to go there for a month sometime. It is bigger than the other two mentioned places - can't decide if it is as hectic as Rome but I do think it is more charming and interesting, mostly because of the variety of "scenes".
