Deportation Museum

Looking to find some information on this museum-as to size etc. I originaly thought that it was near Notra dame & just a ramp going to the water. What else is in this area & what about places to eat?<BR>Do you know if it will be opened on Nov.1 and Saturday or Sunday?

It's more like a park and memorial than a museum. It is right across the bridge/street from the back of Notre Dame. I don't know why it wouldn't be open those days.

Sort of below ground right behind Notre Dame and a very sobering place to visit, but well worth it.

the bigger whoops is referencing hagan daz. Berthillon's, 31 rue saint-louis-en-l'ile, is the only place in the area to savor ice cream.

Are you a bit afraid of visiting this place with the terrorism/anti-jewish sentiment that is swirling around (Everywhere-not just Paris)

Are you a bit afraid of driving with all the drunk drivers on the road?

just keep in mind that the Memorial closes for a long lunch break, approx<BR>12-2. http://www.paris.org/Monuments/Martyrs.Deportation/info.html<BR><BR>An article by Rick Steves on Notre Dame and the Deportation Memorial:<BR>http://www.ricksteves.com/plan/countries/paris1.htm <BR><BR>In the area behind Notre Dame toward the river there are many cafes, also between Notre Dame and the Palais de Justice. Some are overpriced because it is a popular tourist area, but you won't starve. <BR><BR>there is also the Memorial of the Unknown Jewish Martyr, 17 rue Geoffroy-l’Asnier. This one is more of a Holocaust museum. <BR>www.memorial-cdjc.org is the website. The memorial is open Sun-Fri 10-1 and 2-6.<BR>Metro St Paul or Pont Marie. <BR>
