Yep. We did it this past May on a Monday night by making a reservation.
We found it fascinating. They really don't take many people so you can move to another room and pretty much have it to yourself to "experience" the whole thing.

If you visit in the evening (when you need to make an appointment) make sure you are there on time. We made a poor transportation decision (tried to get from Knightsbridge during rush hour on the buses) and we were late (very late - 35 minutes) for our appointment. The man at the door apologized (as did we for being late) but we weren't admitted.

I went about 3 years ago and greatly enjoyed. I went in the daytime and didn't have to make a reservation, but made sure I arrived in plenty of time. You might want to call them beforehand, though, in case you need a reservation.

By all means, do go to the Dennis Severs House. We went on an afternoon tour, but it would be better by reservation in evening, because there would be fewer people and the traffic is controlled. One of the very best experiences I've ever had in any historical site. Not at all the usual.

Thanks to all of you my daughter forwarded me the site and I just made a reservation for the same night as you, Monday Oct. 25th. This will be our last day, we start our trip on 10/6 going to Wales for a week and then on to Cornwall for another week and back to London for three days. Hope to see you at the Dennis Severs house.

Message: I visited Dennis Severs house on a Monday night in 2003.The main difference with a night visit is that the house is only lit by candlelight. You must also make reservations in advance for the evening visit.
The whole point of his house is to recreate a time capsule of a family of weavers in the 17th century. When you enter each room its as if the dwellers of the house have just departed that room.So you will find half eaten plates of food, and all the smells that go with it.The hosts are trying to go beyond the usual museum visit and to really engage all your senses in the experience.
Be forewarned that the hosts insit on absolute silence durring your entire visit. No Talking is allowed.
The houses motto is,"Either you see it or you don't."

To Vstanton, I am glad I posted the info! It sounds like it will be fun. Our reservation is 7pm. We begin 10/17 with a week driving the countryside (cotswold, york), then drop off the car and arrive in London 10/24 for a week. This is our first trip to England. Have a safe trip!

I believe our reservation is for 8:45pm so we will probably miss each other. This is our 11th trip to the UK and have enjoyed every one of them. The Cotswolds are great, we have stayed in Stanton (no relation) & visited all surrounding villages. Have fun and stay safe.
