Dennis Sever House
We visited the Dennis Sever house the evening of Mon. 10/25. It was a unique experience, but....I kept seeing "things" & according to the notes left in the rooms if I was still seeing "things" I wasn't getting it. Can anyone help?

I visited the Dennis Severs house when I was in London and it has remained one of my top travel experiences to date. It is an "experience" - for the eyes, the ears (remember the sounds of the kitchen, people in the house & street, etc.?), the smells (cloves in oranges for one)...

I still haven't been, despite living in the area and walking past the end of the street once a week
BUT I have read Dennis Severs's book, which explains at some length how the whole experience is intended to suggest the development of ideas, feelings and attitudes over the time the 'family' lived there. See also their website (under 'The Plot').

For Ira, I was seeing the rooms, furnishings etc & reading the notes left at each location in the rooms. They kept reading "if you are still seeing things you are not getting it" I guess I was just not feeling the feelings of the family.
