I'm not too worried if Delta goes into bankruptcy -- that just means that they refinance their debts -- but they keep on flying until all is resolved. I'm just worried if Alitalia, a Delta code share, goes out of busisness.

Unless you own the bonds at par or the equity, the markets been expecting this. Their bonds were downgraded by S&P to CCC back in March, that level implies imminent bankruptcy.
The recent spike in fuel prices has killed any chance that the weaker airlines had of getting out of the downturn without filing.

CarolA,
I'm not sure if ALL is the right word to use. AMR Corp., parent company of American Airlines is doing a fabulous job on the stock market. Just over a year ago it was selling at $1.30 a share, today it closed at around $13.90. I don't think that the investors would be so wild about a stock if it did have a chance to go under.
BTW, in recent weeks I made enough to buy me couple of RTW tickets on OneWorld Alliance first class, thanks to AMR Corp.
