Day visit to winery - Sienna or Montepulciano - recs needed
We are staying at a house right above Sienna - Chianti 53011 Siena, Castellina - and would like to research (and, if needed, reservations for) a vineyard either near our stay or near Montepulciano - since my husband's favorite red wine comes from there! Early September visit.
Any recommendations for a great experience and, perhaps, a lunch there also?
Many thanks.

Hi,
We have been to the region twice. Both times we hired a private guide to drive us from, Florence for a day trip "to Chianti Country". They chose where we went and our stops along the way. The stops and history they provided were both very different. Oddly enough, both guides took us to the same vineyard. https://www.monterinaldi.it/ , First guide it was for a private tour and tasting. The second it was for a really nice Lunch, with every course having a different wine, followed by a tour with their Sommelier Fabrizio. The second tour was much better, the food was excellent, all in all a perfect experience. The grounds were pretty. Their wine is currently unavailable in the United States, but that might change as they were just in Laguna CA.
Not much to go on - I know, but has nobody has really responded. I thought I'd throw it out there. If we were to go back, I'd try to visit Luiano

I love their wine, (especially the 2013 Chianti). No idea, if either of these are close to you.
Hope this helps
