Day trips from Florence

Hello, I will be in Florence for 4 nights in September.I have same questions regarding car rental.Do i need a car while there or taking the train will be better?I am planning to visit Montecatini Terme,Luca and maybe Chianti.Any other recommendations on the Tuscany region are apreciated.Thanks

We daytripped to Siena from Florence and had a wonderful trip. Siena is a lovely and interesting city and makes for a great day.

We took a day trip on the train 1.5 hrs to Pisa.

Hi Ira ,You dont think i should rent a car?My frinds went there last summer and said it was great having a car .I am concern about the parking.Is there any place i should visit while there.Your posts are always helpful. Thanks
