day trip question
I need an opinion on day trips out of Paris. We'll be taking the train. Already planning Versailles. Can you do Chartres and Versailles in one day? How about Epernay, Malmaison, or Fountainbleu?
I've had the best time looking at everyone's posts and pictures. Getting excited. We're leaving April 7 and will stay at Hotel Chomel in the 7th.
Thanks for your help.

Hi AD,
I would not recommend Versailles and Chartres on the same day.
For your other sights, enter the names at www.google.com and pull up their websites. They have directions on how to get to them.

I respectfully disagree with ira this time. I like to maximize my time when I travel. That way, it feels as if I'm getting my money's worth for the obscene airfare.
If you head out on one of the first trains (to get to Chartres early in the morning), you can be in Versailles after lunch (picnic on the train), and sunset isn't until 20h28 on 7 April.
It will be a long and tiring day, but if you pace yourself and relax from time to time, it should be manageable.
