Day trip or overnight Luxemburg

Greetings,

I have two extra days in my itineary and am considering visiting Luxemburg. Do you all recommend staying there overnight or traveling from Brussels on a day trip?

My itineary is: (can take out 2 nights from these cities to see Luxemburg if necessray)

2 nights Brussels
5 nights Antwerp
3 nights Brugges
5 nights Amsterdam

Many thanks in advance.

You could take out one or two nights from your stay in Antwerp. Although I love my city (Antwerp!), I think 5 nights is a long time considering that the city is fairly small. Unless of course you plan daytrips to other cities (Gent? Leuven?).
If you are traveling by train it might be more practical to change your itinerary a bit:
Brussels
Brugge
Antwerp
Amsterdam.
The reason is that there is an easy direct connection from Antwerp to Amsterdam, which is not the case for Brugge.

Myriam,

Do you recommend Brussels for lodging when going to Luxenburg or do you recommend that we stay overnight at Luxenburg?

We hope to travel to Gent while in Antwerp but now have cut it down to 4 nights as per your suggestion.

The city of Luxembourg in itself is nice but not outstanding. If you want to go in that direction, you should explore the Ardennes area and maybe spend the night in a city like Spa.
