Day Trip from Barcelona
We will be in Barcelona in late April and would like to take 1 day to see CADAQUES and GIRONA and BESALU. Its that feasible in 1 day ?
What are options of ways to see those places? I am hesitant to do it entirely on our own as I know there will be so much to see and some things need advance tickets ( DALI and Besulu baths)
Thanks in advance

No, it won't be possible in one day without a car (and hardly possible with a car if you don't want to be rushed and to spend less than 30 minutes in each location !).
Train from Barcelona to Girona is approx 1 hour, bus takes longer.
There is a bus from Girona to Olot which stops in Besalu

Cadaques is accessible by bus from Girona (count 2 hours):

You can also take a bus from Barcelona bus station (Estacion del Nord) to Cadaques. See www.sarfa.com
I don't think you need advance tickets for Besalu baths - just show up at the time and place indicated by the Tourist office.

This isn't feasible if you're using public transportation. Even with a car it would be way too much, at least for me. Girona has plenty to keep me occupied for an entire day. Besalu can be visited in a couple of hours. Cadaques probably for a half day. The beauty of visiting these places is to have time to enjoy them and not run through them all.

You can check with one of the local tour/guide companies to see if they have anything that matches your wish list for a day-trip. It's posssible they may be able to arrange it, but such a trip (Barcelona-Girona-Cadaques-Besalú-Barcelona) will involve at least 5 hours on the road, leaving you much time to enjoy the visits.

Hi, This is Barcelona
You might want to pick just one spot for a nice day trip. Girona can be done on a easy day-trip by train.
You can also check Catalunya Turismo (www.gencat.cat/turistex_nou/home_ang.htm) to see what else you can do on a day-trip.

You can click on my name to read my trip report from October 2010. We rented a car for a 3 night/4 day roadtrip: spent one night in Cadaques & 2 nights in Girona, & drove thru part of the Pyrenees, making a stop in Besalu, before returning to Barcelona. YOu definitely can't do what you want in one day. Can you do a 2 or 3 night roadtrip? If not, you have made a wise choice in going to Girona for a day. My trip report goes into detail of what we did for sightseeing in Girona & I name some restaurants we liked.
