Get the museum pass - most of these are included and you can skip the lines.

I did all of that on my first visit to Paris. Had to go back to experience Paris (I'm hooked). Dates aren't as important as weather. Eiffel Tower, Sacre-Coeur, Rodin and all parks on nice days. St Chappelle on a sunny morning, Versailles on a pleasant day so you can walk the grounds. Musee D'Orsay open late Thursday. Seine cruise at sunset. Get a map and check on open days and times of the sites and plan accordingly. Then take into account the weather. Enjoy the neighborhood around Tour Montparnasse a little. Add Musee Marmottan if you love Monet.

Please don't plan every second. Just wander the streets and enjoy Paris. The metro is great but the buses let you see more while you're going place to place and you might see a neighborhood you may like to explore. Enjoy.

I agree not to overplan. That is a LOT of sightseeing and not much wandering, café drinking and macaron eating! ;-)

Everywhere you wander in Paris, there is something marvelous to discover. You can't possibly see everything in one visit to Paris.

What I like to do is choose a metro station every day and explore that general area. That's how I've discovered my favourite Paris spots, often not on a list of obvious to-see places.

If you try to cram to much sightseeing in a short amount of time, you can suffer from a Paris indigestion! ;-)

One thing is certain, whatever you do, you will enjoy the Ville Lumières!

Vive Paris!

You should group the sights by area. Here's a quick grouping. Versailles should be a day by itself. You can stop at the Eiffel Tower on the return to Paris.

You can do the Seine cruise any time, even at night (IMHO it's more spectacular at night).

Any guide book will tell you museum opening days/hours. Their web sites also give this information so I'll let you look that up. Mostly museums are closed Mondays or Tuesdays. Churches are almost always open during the day.

Notre-Dame
Sainte Chapelle
Pantheon
Jardin du Luxembourg
Tour Montparnasse

Pompidou
Place des Vosges

Les Invalides
Musee d'Orsay
Musee Rodin

Arc de Triomphe
Champs-Élysees
Jardin des Tuileries

Sacre-Coeur

Parc des Buttes Chaumont

On Mondays, only the garden and park are open. I'd probably skip Saturday and Sunday because it will probably have more visitors on those days. There is a lot of information on their website about the tours that are available and ticket information.

You'll probably want to pick up a guide book and map. That will help with your planning. You've got a lot of other good tips already. have fun!

Versailles is best on Sunday for the Fountains (That is if they don't turn them off for winter?. They might go off on Wednesday too, not sure about that. I was there in June of last year and my group did all the places you stated except instead of Parc des Buttes Chaumont we did the Louvre. We arrived on Sunday and stayed till saturday. It was quick but amazing and I will be back this year for more. When alone you can adjust the movement from one place to the next at Your discretion
Have a Great Time.

Have you checked when everthing is open? Some museums are open in the evening and can be less crowded. Start there, then geography, then weather. Don't plan everything so precisely or you will miss the essence of Paris. I love the view of the Eiffel Tower from Trocadero and it can be fun to hang with the crowd.

Cali - are you the original poster? Did you sign up with one screen name and then change it the next day? I'll assume you're the same person as travelbuddy.

What are you unsure about on Thursday?

The Versailles fountains are running on other days as well as Sundays, depending on the time of year so if you're thinking of going on Sunday for the fountains you may be able to see them during the week.

I don't think Versailles is any more relaxing than any thing else on your itinerary. There's a lot to see at the chateau and it will be a full day.
