We have a 2 night stay in Weissenkirchen driving from Vienna. On our way to Weissenkirchen I was thinking of visiting Krems and Durnstein, then next day doing a full day leisurely bike trip from Weissenkirchen stopping at vineyards/castles to Melk then taking the boat back. We would see Melk Abbey on our way to St Wolfgang on our departure day. What side of river is more scenic/interesting? Can we switch off using the boats? Must sees on the way?? Any itinerary suggestions welcomed, even alternatives.
