LaMarrema in Florence for lunch--the ravioli with nocci sauce was wonderful and the Cane E Gato in Siena which was an 8 course meal and wonderful. Marilyn

After spending 3 1/2 hours broken dwon along the motorway in rural France, in a driving rain, waiting for any kind of help to come along, and then a tow to a rural garage and many phone calls to Hertz, finally a taxi to a hotel in another town, arriving at the hotel at 11 pm we had the best dinner. It was a bottle of red wine we had with us and a bag of potato chips from the mini-bar. All we could do was look at each other and say "Thank God we are alive and well and we found help." It was a wonderful dinner.

Hey Hungry, kind of a similar story. After touring the Tuscan countryside and hitting towns like Montalcino and having an amazing lunch, we then headed to Pienza the home of Pecorino. We picked up a few rounds of this very tasty cheese which was made with truffles and drove on to Montepulciano to find the perfect bottle of wine to accompany it. After touring this great city and finding some amazing little pieces of art we headed back home to our castello near Florence. Of course we arrived back a little late and none of the markets close by were open. Well, we had a wonderful meal of percorino and amazing wine sitting out on our terrace watching the stars of Tuscany. Unfortunately our 2 kids had to eat some italian cookies and air for dinner as they are not quite into the wine and cheese yet. Ahh, the hardships of travel!
