Crowne Plaza Castle vs Marriott
I will be in Prague for two nights in December and have enough points to stay at either of these two hotels, pr even the Courtyard Flora.
Both have pretty solid reviews but, having never been to Prague, I am just not sure about the most convenient location.
Advice is appreciated!

If it is the Marriot in V Celnici I would say that is the best located and the Old Town Square about a 5 minute walk away, you would also be close to the metro at Namesti Republika (less than 2 minutes walk).
The Crown Plaza is up above the castle and that area does give great views but is a bit furhter away from the sights and the night life tjough close to the castle area.It is an area of the city I very much like and the Strahov Monestry is close by as is the lovely Lorreta. It has a good tram link from the nearby Poholerec tram stop (2 minute walk) which gets you into the main city centre in about 5 minutes.
I have stayed in neither hotel so can't say anything about them
To be near night life and walkable sights then go for the Marriott, for a quieter area with some great views over the city but still with reasonable transport options go for the Crowne Plaza.

We have often stayed above the castle at the Savoy hotel and enjoy that area a good deal. As Unclegus says, it is quieter but with the tram line (#23?) it is not far to both the castle area and also into the "downtown."
If you want to be closer to the so-called "action" then stay closer to downtown.

It is the Number 22 tram that is up there. The 23 tram did run up in this area but was withdrawn last year as much of the route also incorporated the 22 route, trams run every few minutes and I am pretty sure a late night tram runs in this area too.

With such a short stay and also because the hours of daylight are so limited in December, it sounds like the Marriott would be the better choice.
I have points at the Hilton as well but only the Hilton Prague is available and that hotel looks out of the way and utterly charmless, a pure convention monolith.
