Croatia Travel
What would be the most effective way to go from NYC JFK to Croatia? We are thinking of a May 2005 trip and have heard the airline situation is difficult. Personal experience not websites please.
Thanks.

Most major airlines fly from NYC to Zagreb via some major city like Frankfurt, Vienna, etc. So one stop is not too bad. If you want to get to Dubrovnik or Split then you simply take a cheap and quick flight from Zagreb to that destination on Croatia Air.
Best thing in this case is to fly to Zagreb, stay overnight, check out the sights then move on to your next destination.
Simple.
I can hook you up with a wonderful travel agent in Dubrovnik who can make all the inter-croatian arrangements for you if you like

Thanks for all your advice.
Offwego, we are still in preliminary planning stage. We do have an American friend of Croatian ancestry who we will approach if we go.
Dubrovnik and Split sound great--we might sail between cities.
Planning is fun.

Czech Air to Prague, connection to Zagreb. ( a delta codeshare) works good for us.
otherwise get to CDG, then Croatian Air has regular daily flight to ZAG.
otherwise get to cologne, Ger, discounter germanwings now has service from col to Dubv.
