Croatia - Purchasing Tickets for Ferries

We are traveling to Croatia for three weeks in May/June. Would appreciate opinions about how soon in advance we need to purchase ferry tickets (in particular, those from Oberic to Korcula and Vela Luka to Split)? With thanks.

With a car? You could reserve the day before, but in that period, you can just arrive the day of and get in line.
