Croatia or Portugal??

Croatia or Portugal??
My wife and I have two weeks vacation in mid-Setpember. We've got enough Skymiles for Europe, but are having difficulty deciding between Croatia and Portugal.
Which gives you the biggest bang for the buck?
What would be your preference?

Croaia would be best value & mid Sept would be ideal weatherwise. we have been to both & would prefer Croatia the scenery people are wonderful, my husband & I are both seniors we felt very safe .we flew into LHR & took Ryanair to Trieste then bus to Croatia we als took a private yacht cruise round the islands wonderful. Both are wonderful. I love culture, nature and people in both. Croatia will be cheaper, but food in Portugal will be better. Most of Croatia's beauty is at its coast, while in Portugal it's more the inland, and Portugal also has more and bigger historical cities. I think a regular flight to Croatia would cost more than one to Portugal, so if you're using skymiles, I guess it's better to use them for Croatia!

Croatia is the choice.
It always has been for Nothern and Central Europeans, but is now being "rediscovered" by those discouraged by the Bosnian situation.
Two years ago we had Korcula Town all to ourselves (after the cruise ship pulled out) in September. That will not be possible soon, what with Rudy Maxa et al doing pieces on Croatia. Go now, before it gets innundated.
