Croatia Itinerary help please

Hi, This will be our first trip to Croatia,(2 adults). Here is what we have so far-2 nights Dubrovnik. Then we will be on a sailboat to Sipan, Polace, Korcula, Okuklje,Slano, then back to Dubrovnik for a night or 2. We will have 6 nights left. What would you suggest? We'd like to rent a car. Also, any specific suggestions for an apartment in Dubrovnik. Thanks for any help you can give.Joan suggestions.

Here's a few options to consider:

1) northwest to Mostar and Sarajevo, explore Herzegovina. You could rent the car in B-H and return to Dbv via bus from Sarajevo or Mostar. Check out the excellent B-H tourism site.

2) north to Split/Trogir, rent car for trips to Zadar, Sibenik, Plitvice Lakes National Park.

3) From Split, ferry to Hvar or Vis if you want more island time.

4) South to Kotor, explore Montenegro (inland and coast).

Note some of your interests, likes and dislikes and you will get many many recommendations.

We are interested in small non touristy charming towns along the coast, scenery, good food, hiking, local festivals. We don't mind driving. We'll be there in July. Thanks.

July is busy even in small towns .
Montenegro is one option or you can fly to Pula and explore Istria.

Google Rose of Dubrovnik. They have lots of nice options both close to old town and out. We have reserved Apt Iva for May. In July closer in to old town may be busy. There are also day trips to Mostar in Bosnia/Herzegovina and to MOntenegro (Kotor, Budva, Herceg Novi) as options. If you decide to go down to Sveti Stefan in Montenegro, we just reserved with Vila Drago and they look like a great stop... www.viladrago.com

Hope some of my research helps you.

Happy travels.
