In September, we spent 9 days in coastal Croatia, based in Korcula 3 nights, Split 5 nights and Dubrovnik 1 night, and we are about to start a trip report on that portion of our trip. Prior to that, we spent four great days in Montenegro and just posted a report on those days (Fabulous Four Days in Montenegro). Between Korcula and Split, we also spent 24 hours in Mostar and Medjugorje and felt that was enough there. We did day trips to Zadar, Trogir, Makarska, Hvar and Brac from Split. Your itinerary looks good, and you are covering a bit more territory than we did, but you have more time. It seems that you might be spending a little too much time in Dubrovnik and perhaps could spend at least a couple of those nights in Kotor. That's a long day trip from Dubrovnik.

Split to Korčula for a day trip is too far (for me at least.) you are going to spend five hours on a catamaran. I’d skip Krka since you’ll be in Plitvice. The area around Mostar is very beautiful, but you could save that for another trip and take the catamaran down the coast, stopping two or three nights in Korčula and an overnight in Mljet (so you can see the park in a more leisurely fashion.)

Hvar is a better day trip from Split because it’s closer. It’s either one hour or two hours one way by catamaran.

We spent 2 nights in Zagreb at the Jagerhorn hotel and loved it. If it’s open, be sure to visit the Museum of Naive Art.

I think 5 nights in Dubrovnik is fine because you have 2 day trips planned. However, you could take 1 or 2 of those nights and stay overnight in Montenegro.
