Croatia in August

Can anyone give some advice on the above. Myself and pal have two weeks to basically relax, sunbathe, eat seafood and explore croatian nightlife. Could anyone advise on paticular towns or islands that will accomodate.
Input would be much appreciated.

Would definitely recommend the area around Dubrovnik (apologies for spelling!)some beautiful scenery and great beaches - the people are fantastic too!!

without the beach I would say you can't go far wrong in Zagreb either - some great places and superb seafood to be had!!

I'm going to Dubrovnik in September. Check out the Dubrovnik page at virtualtourist.com. There are people who live there who have posted all sorts of information regarding nightlife, restaurants, little islands off the beaten path, etc. There is also a Dubrovnik discussion page (as there are for other cities and countries) The Rough Guide to Croatia is a good overview of the country.

Here are couple web sites:

http://www.croatia.hr/home.php

http://www.dubrovnikportal.com/eng/

Try the island of Hvar and then take a motor boat to the nearby island (name I can't recall) which allows nude sunbathing if you are into that. Hvar is a great place to go, regardless of whether you sunbathe in the buff.

Miles, I thought Split had great nightlife, great looking people out walking along the harbor all night. There was a rock band playing one night that was very good. Also Dubrovnik has alot going on. I don't know how old you are but I found Hvar a little too quiet for my tastes. I was pretty anxious to get back to the mainland.

I met a couple of people that were headed to the stretch of coast between Split and Dubrovnik that is supposed to be the party area of Croatia for the 20's crowd. I can't remember the name of the area but it seems like it starts with and M-anybody else know the name?

Hi....just back from a week at lake
Bled in Slovenia and a week at Porec in Croatia..Porec is in the Istria district of Croatia..A harbour town with lots to see and do and really buzzing at night(take 5 minute ferry to island for private beaches)Rivinj and Pula are worth seeing both very historic, or go to Motovun and sample white and black truffles with local wines...enjoy!!
