CROATIA 2007 - I can't wait!

Hi fellow Fodorites!
Looks like there will be at least 2-3 of us in DBV at the same time. We will arrive Oct. 11 and leave the 16th. ( Sorry Julia T! )
GTG the 13th or 14th? I clicked on the Pucic Palace site to get an idea of what their lounge looked like, but the majority of their photos seem to focus on the loo or their culinary creations.
If someone wants to name a place inside the city walls, -- I'm up for it!!
BGREENER: Sorry for the long delay in responding--- haven't been on this site for a while. I chose the Neptune in Porec based on its excellent reviews and location, and finally price. I looked carefully at its photos, and others' (trip advisor) and made the leap.
I made all reservations in January-- for a late September/October trip-- and many hotels were booked-- or as was the case in Lake Bled: we secured the last room. If you're thinking of visiting the more popular spots in Croatia in 2008, I would suggest making your reservations as soon as your dates are narrowed down. If the site isn't posting prices (yet), send an inquiry. This past May, I recalc'd all my prices (including int'l air) and the trip would have run about $500 higher. However, I definitely would not have been able to get reservations at those properties if I had waited. I've always found it pays to lock in early-- and this underscores why. (As an example- I'm currently working on a 36-day trip to India planned for 2009.)
Been a long time planning ... and now it's T-minus 69 days and counting!!
