Crete Itinerary

Hi,

We're set on Crete for 16 days in July. Is this itinerary too ambitious for the timeframe? We realise there are a couple of days of reasonable distances, but we are used to driving longer distances. 9 year old plus 2 adults. We wanted to break up town bases with beach/village bases so there is some backtracking. Have a car the whole trip. Interests are food, greek mythology (child), beaches, some walking/hiking, beautiful/traditional villages and towns. For example in Sardinia we stayed at Baunei, Bosa, Alghero, Cagliari and Cannigione and Sicily in Palermo, Ortigia, Agrigento, Ragusa area, Cefalu and Taormina.

Thank you. Also really appreciate any thoughts on the places selected. Usually we book trips much further in advance so trying to lock this in super quickly given its high season!

I found much to enjoy in Heraklion, so you might consider adding another day there, particularly if you will have jet lag on your first day or two. That said, it probably doesn't match your interests as well as some other locations, so you might be OK with your allotment of time there.

Hope that helps!
