CampingCaryn; not necessary to convert your currancy to Euros or TL. There will be plenty of ATM's, there is a bank 7/24 on arrivals in Istanbul Ataturk Airport and if you try to get some Turkish Lira at home probably exchange rate will be not to your favor.

There are a number of ATMs near the Aya Sofia - all outside in two kiosks. One is to your right and a little ahead as you face the Blue Mosque and the other directly to your left. Additionally they are everywhere else too. Turkish Lira are the best as there is no conversion ratio and right now the exchange rate is very favorable.
