Craiova-Bucharest
Hi,
I'm going on a solo trip to Romania and the cheapest flight is to Craiova. I wonder is it safe in the city for a female? I probably spend 1 day in Craiova and travel to Bucharest, is bus or train better to reach Bucharest from Craiova? How do I buy the ticket? Do I have to buy in advance?
Thanks!

Craiova is safe, but it's not a particularly interesting tourist destination . A few hours (3-4) are enough for it.
It's best to go to Bucharest by train, they're more frequent than buses on this route. There are 14-15 of them per day (see the railway company's site https://cfrcalatori.ro/en for timetables), the trip takes 3-4 hours, standard tickets are around 54 lei (€12). No need to buy in advance, although it's simpler to get them online.
I hope you plan to visit other places in Romania apart from Bucharest. Try to spend at the very least a day or two in southern Transylvania (the area around Brasov and Sibiu, to see the medieval cities, castles, old villages, mountains etc).
