Covid Travel Insurance

My wife and I are thinking of going to London in the fall. I would like to purchase travel insurance that will cover (1) 100% return of the cost for the first class tickets if we get covid prior to the trip. (2) Pay for our hotels and any cost for rescheduling our trip home if we get covid in London. It is my understanding we will have to have a negative covid test prior to boarding the plane for our return trip to the US.

Does anybody have any suggestions? Thank you.

Are the first class tickets non-refundable? If you can cancel for a full refund at any time, then buying additional insurance doesn't help you...
Ditto for your hotels. What is the cancellation policy for those?

I have to believe that with first class transatlantic tickets you have more flexibility than someone buying the cheapest coach seats.... Best to check with your airline and hotels first on their policies.

Thank you for you reply. Sorry for the confusion, I didn't make myself clear. I am looking for insurance that will pay for our hotel room while we we quarantine and wait for a negative test.

Yes, I have first-hand experience of one company you should steer clear of - Trawick Insurance. I purchased travel insurance with this company in November of 2021 for a trip to Costa Rica in January of 2022. I made sure my policy included Covid quarantine coverage, of course! For $2,600 coverage I paid $150. I tested positive at the airport for Covid prior to flying home the next day. The U.S. government/airline required a negative test to return home and the Costa Rican government mandated a 10-day quarantine which was reduced to 7 days while I was at the Hilton Garden Inn. I could not leave the room and received room service for my meals. Upon my return home I submitted a claim form with every piece of documentation possible. The claim form and all documentation was accepted. All I have received so far after 6 months is "We are currently experiencing an extremely high volume of claims." Emails and phone calls all resulted in the exact same form mail response. Most recently when I threatened to use social media and also inform all of my fellow group tour travelers of my dilemma, Trawick finally asked for my original flight schedule/itinerary of when I was supposed to fly home. I sent it and again received "We are currently experiencing an extremely high volume of claims." I have three BIG tours coming up to Africa, Asia and Around the World and like you, am also wondering which company to trust for travel insurance. My only advice is to SAVE EVERY BIT OF PAPERWORK regarding your trip. I will update this forum response WHEN or IF I finally receive payment from Trawick.

Just Google Covid test & you will find:

As of 12:01AM ET on June 12, 2022, CDC will no longer require air passengers traveling from a foreign country to the United States to show a negative COVID-19 viral test or documentation of recovery from COVID-19 before they board their flight.
