Cotswolds area Christmas activities

Hi Fodorites—

We are headed to England a week or so before Christmas this year. Covid cancelled our London Christmas trip several years ago and we are finally headed there this year. We are spending 3 nights in Broadway to start before heading to London And we’ll be back home just before Christmas Eve. We have an AirBNB in Broadway and London.

Yes, we know it will get dark early, will be cold and will probably rain. We have the gear and aren’t afraid of cold damp weather.

Has anyone been to Sudeley Castle at Christmas? Worth it? I believe Broadway has a Christmas market…are there others you recommend? We’re mostly looking to enjoy a pint or a mulled wine in a cosy pub, maybe hike to Snowshill and relax.

Not been to Sudely at Christmas, but we once hosted our Aussie family in one of the cottages in Sudely Castle grounds. Winchcombe has some nice pubs and even a Michelin starred restaurant. Sadly, I think the castle is only open March - November . Winchcombe is at teh confluence of several Cotswold footpaths so a great place for walking.

PS you are spot one re the weather - we just had the wettest winter I can recall!

thanks…thinking we can definitely visit Winchcombe and we may just roll the dice on the Sudeley Castle light event and check it out. I think going to Blenheim from Broadway is a little far.
