Costa del Sol from Dordogne/Bordeaux
Help. Our family of 5 will be in Dordogne/Bordeaux in July and have to get down to either Malaga or Gibraltar for an event. All the flights to Gibraltar route through London, and Malaga is also tough to get to. All the train schedules I've found say that the train trip will take 9+ hours, even from Barcelona. Any ideas out there?

If there are already 5 of you, find out how much it would cost to charter a small plane to take you. that may sound ridiculous, but you are talking about no more than 2 hours, and chartering a small plane (or getting onto another family's charter) could be a good idea.

With a distance of nearly 1300 kms, I would look at making at least three, if not four stops along the way. Four being the better option.
Day one: Bordeaux to Vitoria-Gasteiz (346 kms - 4 hours).
Day two: Vitoria to Toledo (436 kms - 5 hours)
Day three: Toledo to Jaén (290 kms - 4 hours)
Day four: Jaén to Granada (94 kms - 1-1/2 hours)
Day five: Ganada to Malaga (130 kms - 1-3/4 hours)
