Cost of public transport pass in Munich?

Can anyone tell me what a week pass for the metro in Munich for the primary two zones cost?
Does one still have to bring a passport photo to attach to it?
Thanks.

I don't know the precise answer to your question, but check out www.mvv-muenchen.de. I read that weekly cards are 17.50 (DM?) and can be purchased at the ticket machines, but my German is tenuous at the very best. The weekly, monthly and yearly passes are called IsarCards.

The site has all the info you need there under MVV-Tarif, and the IsarCard as Wilma said. It gives prices in both DM and Euro's - 17.50 DM and 9 Euro's. (quite cheap if you ask me)

I'm not sure about using the word "still" about a picture, I don't think you ever needed one. (perhaps thinking of London?) But the site specifically says - (roughly) "Formality Free - easy purchase at major train stops and any automated machine. Just buy and go." Definitely no need for a picture.

When I was there last June, you didn't need a picture, and the hotels sold the passes. I don't remember the cost - was reasonable.
