Cornwall Guidebook recommendations?

I am looking for a good guidebook for Cornwall Any recommendations? The DK Eyewitness Top 10 has pretty good reviews, is it worth buying? I've never been a Lonely Planet fan but how about theirs? Moon sadly doesn't have a guide for the area. Not sure if I will be renting a car, but if I do, are most rentals automatic or stick shift? TIA! Keeps on telling me to add two more letters.

Most rentals are stick shift -- you'll have to pay quite a bit extra to get an automatic.

I like the Cadogan guides. But -- are you going to be in London or elsewhere in England before heading down to Cornwall? If so what I'd do is go into one of the major bookstores in London -- Waterstons, Hatchards etc. Because there will be a MUCH better selection of UK-published guide books for specific regions. That's also a good place to but a printed road atlas (and yes, you will also want a road atlas even if the car has a GPS)
