Hello Pooja,

Well, - you really need 2 weeks to see Devon and Cornwall! It's a lovely area with much to see ...

If you're planning such a short visit, my advice would be just to visit Devon. You could perhaps include one or two places in East Cornwall, but to try and cover West Cornwall would really be too much driving and too much of a rush.

The North Devon coast is perhaps the lovliest coastal scenery in England, particularly the area around LYNMOUTH. From Lynmouth there are lovely walks to WATERSMEET, and from Lynton to VALLEY OF ROCKS. En route to Lynmouth two places not to miss are DUNSTER and SELWORTHY (chocolate box village of thatched cottages).
Another must-see place in North Devon is the lovely village of CLOVELLY.

In South Devon, DARTMOUTH is a place not to miss. Others are TOTNES, BRIXHAM and SALCOMBE (lovely views at nearby Bolt Head). You could also include EXETER (fine cathedral) and the resorts of Torquay and Teignmouth.
The area around SIDMOUTH in East Devon is also lovely ...

In East Cornwall, two of my favourite places are Polperro and Looe ...
I don't think you'll have time to see much more in 2/3 days!
Your driving time from London to Devon is about 3 hours.

Let me know if I can be of more help.

Steve
Hello Duane,

There's a regular service between London (Paddington) and Penzance. Some services are direct, some involve a change at Exeter. The fastest journey time is 5 hours. For timetables see:-
www.railtrack.co.uk, or
www.thetrainline.com

(There is also a service from London Waterloo, but this is a slower route)

Looe, Falmouth, St.Ives and Newquay are all served by branch lines.

Hope this helps...

Steve

P.S. I can't recommend any particular B&B or hotel as my visits to Cornwall are usually day-trips.

There are many B&B in Cornwall and Devon, even in tiny villages. I usually just go to the local tourist center, they always have some good deals. It is very easy to travel to/in Cornwall/Devon,I usually take train from airport to Exeter, and get a cheap pass of "The freedom of the Southwest" for 8 days of unlimited buses and train rides in Westcountry.
Several sites are very informative for everything traveler need to know:
www.cornwall-online.com
www.carfreedaysout.com
www.wctb.co.uk
