Just returned from a weekend trip to Copenhagen a couple weeks ago. I agree with skipping the statue of the Little Mermaid. However, if it is one of your must sees, it is easily accessible by Metro and should only take about 45 minutes to get there, see it and be gone. Other recommendations for places to visit are the Rosenborg Castle in the middle of Copenhagen and Fredriksborg Castle in Hillerod (about a 30 min train ride outside of Copenhagen). Both castles are reminiscent of Versailles in Paris and have lots of artwork/carvings/etc. on display. <BR> <BR>One of the other "must dos" is to wander down the pedestrian shopping street nicknamed Stoget. There are some new areas open just off the main pedestrian street. One is alongside a canal and a great place to grab a seat, a drink and people watch.

I forgot to say in a previous response I wrote that the changing of the guard at the Queen's castle is quite fun. I was there in March and I don't know the regular schedule, but it is worth a try if you are touring the city.
