Hey Dennis, <BR>It's me again. This time we stayed at the Mayfair Hotel. It's a bit higher ($140 per night). It is in walking distance of the train station. We didn't even hire a cab, but carried our luggage to the hotel. Tivoli is located next to the train station, and the downtown area next to it, so if you can walk, you can handle it. <BR>Do you need info on Stockholm, Oslo, Bergen, or St. Petersburg. Let me know.

We stayed at the Sophie Amalie near Nyhavn. I don't remember how much it cost, but I think it was very reasonable. We really enjoyed it. It wasn't right near Tivoli and the train station, but still walkable. We walked everywhere in Copenhagen from our hotel. I highly recommend it.

We visited Copenhagen this July and had a lovely meal at Det Lille Apotek. It is the oldest restaurant in Copenhagen and located on a side street off the Stroget (the pedestrian zone). We started with the "three little dishes," these are dips to eat with your bread, followed by a nice onion soup. My husband had salmon and I had the fried filet of fish. We also had some delicious Danish beer. Have a great time. Copenhagen is a wonderful city full of friendly people. We stayed at the SAS Falconer, which is a bit outside the main part of town; however, there were two bus lines that went from where this hotel is located to downtown (one stopped in front of the train station and the other line stopped on the side of the Town Square). The bus ride took 20 minutes at the most. <BR>

Stayed at the Palace Hotel in early September. It's very close to Tivoli and by the main square and is also close to the airport bus. "Stroget" starts just around the corner and the art gallery is just down the road. Staff are friendly and the buffet breakfast has great sausages.
