Copenhagen
While visiting CPH for the month of August, I plan to do some mini vacations as well. A friend lives in Bonn Germany and we would like to meet in a beachy environment, but not outrageously expensive. Any recommendations for August. Probably not the best time because of the crowds but we have not choice. Thanks

Not sure if you want to meet in Copenhagen in a beachy environment. If so, the area North of the city along the Öresound might be appealing (e.g around Kalundborg).
If you want to meet somewhere in the middle, why don't you look into the Baltic Sea islands of Ruegen or Usedom in Germany or the Fischland peninsula just East of Rostock?. Both would be accessible from Copenhagen by either flying into Berlin or a combination of driving and car ferry between Gedser and Rostock.
An alternative might be the North German island of Sylt in the North Sea. Beautiful, but usually comes at a price (sort of the German version of the Hamptons, Long Island). Accessible by a driving and car ferry combination between Rödby Havn and Puttgarden - or through the Danish Römö (also an island).

thank you hsv, we will meet somewhere other than Denmark because I will have already spent some time sightseeing DK with friends.
I have just spoken with a German Doctor I work with and he suggested also the Fischland peninsula. I'll do some research.

I am not an expert on Fischland, but at least have been there. The peninsula consists of two parts: Fischland and the Darss. On Fischland, I kind of like Wustrow for its atmosphere. Much better than Zingst the last village on the Darss part IMHO.
In between, there is Prerow, which I am not that familiar with on the Darss part, and Ahrenshoop on the Fischland part which is also rather nice IMHO.
