Comments on these Parisian restaurants?
Hi-

I'm planning to make dinner reservations at the following restaurants in Paris. They are the top 3 restaurants listed in Zagats. I'm curious if anyone has eaten at any of them and if you could share your experiences. They are TAILLEVENT, AMBROISIE, and ARPEGE.

Merci

Mike
Mike
I have eaten at Taillevent and I have a reservation to go there again in early October--recommend for any of these that you book as early as possible. Taillevent was perfect, formal decor, wonderfully formal yet cordial, even friendly service, outstanding food.
I have poked my head in at L'Ambrosie
(a very difficult reservation to get, indeed, because it is so small) and thought the decor was little cold for my taste, but that is a personal opinion, as you know the restaurant is said to be one of the best.
This may be a stupid question, but how does one go about making advance reservations at these places? Should I e-mail my hotel in the St. Germain area and request that they make the reservation for me or should I fax/e-mail the restaurant directly? If going through the restaurant directly do you have contact information? Thanks!!

Asking your hotel to do it for you is the easiest way. I would call the restaurant directly as the next option. Both the Fodors and Zagat.com websites have phone #s for restaurants.

Bon Chance!
