Npo Guy, sorry, Emerson admitted her for Jan 2007. She is deciding between Goucher, Depaul, Univ. of Rhode Island, Emerson (07)...and wait-listed at Flagler and Elon. I think Fordham would have been her first choice but she was deferred and then not accepted, I think because she did not "beg". Well, that's it in a nutshell.

I don't know a lot about most of those schools, but Emerson is certainly the most prestigious--especially for communications--and, of course, the location can't be beat. I can see why she would want to wait. What is she studying?

Guy-She is planning on studying communication/ journalism. Her future dream job would prob. be writing for or editing/layout for a fashion or travel magazine.

Well, I don't know those other schools, but I do know that my students (I'm a high school teacher) who have gone to Emerson have loved it. And, like I said, it's VERY well-respected for her field.

Thank you again Guy. I'll pass on your advice to my daughter. I'm sure we'll lose a deposit somewhere since we have several "catch 22's". Due to the late date of wait-list announcements she could say she is going to one school and pull out if she gets in waitlist. Or, she can tell Emerson by June 1st that she will go there in Jan. Or, she can sign up for the study abroad, but if she does get in wait list she may not do the study abroad but would lose about $2000. It seems like they all catch you with payments and deadline dates. EEEEk!
Thanks!

Have you visited Emerson's wesbite for study abroad? I'm sure if you look at it, it will have an approved list of study abroad programs where studets can transfer credits.

My school recently got rid of using AIFS as an approved study abroad program. I think the reviews back from students who went through them were not good.
