Collection of currency from different countries

Over the past several years, I've brought home currency from different countries (some are small amounts). I'm leaving for France in October, and I want to know if I can take all of it with me and convert to Euros once I get into France. Rita

Yes, just take it to a currency exchange...the rates will be generally better than in US. Bills only, no coins.

Part 2: I was somehow thinking you meant currency that is still in circulation (krona, Huf, CHF etc), but now realize maybe not. If you are talking about lire, francs, DM etc, then NO--you have to take that to a national bank in the country in which it was issued.

Do what I have done. I started collecting currency in small amounts (both coin and paper) 30 years ago. I have currency from over twenty different countries. I have placed them in frames to hang on the wall. A great travel reminder.

Thanks for your responses. I'll go ahead and take the money with me and see what happens.

Art, I love your idea. This is a definite possibility.

Rita
