Colette tour: What luggage to bring?

Hi all. We're doing a Colette tour in Italy soon and need to get new luggage for the trip. I have been scouring the internet for suggestions on whether to bring a checked bag, a carry-on and a tote or just a checked bag and a tote... Has anyone been on a Colette tour? What bags can be stored in the overheads on the bus? Any suggestions? What worked? What didn't?

Kindly

TerryM

Colette must have told you what size suitcase you are allowed, if not, ask them.

Overheads on a bus are much smaller than on a plane, and the aisles are narrow, I would not bring anything larger than a tote bag onboard.

Colette will store your larger bag in the under bus compartment and you can bring a tote on the bus to put above the seat. An 18" or 21" roller will suffice for a ten day to two week tour, depending on your packing. Remember to leave space in the suitcase for any purchases you might make along the way.

As it happens, I did a very enjoyable ten day tour from Berlin to Warsaw with Colette ten years ago. it was a great group of well traveled, friendly folks.
Happy travels!

Thanks so much. I am really looking forward to this and wanted to be sure I didn't complicate things by packing the wrong size suitcase.

A small checked bag and a tote should be enough.
