City Jet Airline

Has anyone ever flown City Jet from Kennedy Airport? When I went to make a reservation on Delta, they told me I would be flying City Jet. When I told the rep that I had never heard of City Jet, he had no information. I am leary of flying an airline I have never heard of and on which I can find no information. Help!

PS,

City Jet doesn't fly out of JFK.

Are you flying to London or Dublin and then on to somewhere else?

Thanks Ira. We are flying from JFK to Florence. The Delta rep told me we would fly City Jet from JFK to Paris and then on to Florence. He was not much help. I think I will call back and hope to get a different.rep. Like the Social Security office, you get a different answer every time.

The Delta rep gave you bad info, of course!

You will be flying on either a Delta or Air France plane from JFK to Paris, then onwards on an Air France flight operated by City Jet for the short hop from Paris to Florence.

City Jet is a wholly-owned, Dublin-based subsidiary of Air France and the flights they operate to and from Paris are down so on a "franchise" basis, which means that the planes are painted in Air France livery, the crew wear Air France uniforms etc. You might have an Irish flight crew (not necessarily though, they also have Paris-based crews), otherwise I have not noticed anything that sets these flights apart from normal Air France services.

City Jet only flies Bae 146 (aka as Avroliners), a smaller jet that I do not particularly like due to the very limited overhead locker space and narrow seats. Due to these space limitations, you have to leave larger carry-ons at the foot of the plane when boarding. You get your bag back immediately upon deplaning however.

Anyway, no reason whatsoever to be leary of anything except for the information provided by Delta's phone reps ;-)

Hope this helps,
Andre
