Hi Terry,

when we got to Vernazza, we asked around at the restaurants and bars in town for rooms to rent. I can't remember the name of the restaurant we got a room from, but it was on the left side of the main street, about 2/3 of the way to the beach, and I think the exterior was blue! Sorry I don't remember the name, but I don't think you'll have any trouble finding a room in Vernazza. Just ask to see it before taking one. The lady who rented us the room didn't want any money from us until we were ready to leave. SHe told us to just drop off our key and settle up then. The restaurant' name is Al Castello. The views are magnificent and the prices are reasonable. Enjoy!
A word of warning for hikers, you should check out the www.cinqueterreonline.com website. I saw it yesterday and it said the Via dell'amore path is closed due to a landslide until Easter! Also the path from Vernazza to Monterosso is closed as well. My advice is to take the boat between the towns, it really is the most amazing trip!
