cinque terre
Has anyone stayed at Il Parco B&B in Monterosso or the Ca'D'Andrean in Manarola?
Which town would you feel is more scenic?
we will have a car to park somewhere also.
Thanks for your input. trip is in mid Oct 04

We stayed in Manarolo at the Picolo Marina right by the "harbor". We were able to get a pass and drive our car down near the center, unload our luggage, then park on the outside of the gates to the town. That worked out fine. In the real center of the town there are no cars allowed, as the streets are filled with boats hauled up and stored on their rolling cradles -- which I find totally picturesque.
My own feeling is that the Cinque Terre is unique for its remote village feel -- but the one village of the five which doesn't have that feel at all is Monterossa, which comes off as the "luxury (taken with a grain of salt) resort" town of the area. Have you done a search here for those two properties? A number of people have posted pretty recently mentioning some small properties in Manarola, but I'm not sure if either of those two have been mentioned.
