"Much as I like the Channel Islands I'd not spend time there unless you are over 70."

What does it have to do with age?[/QUOTE]

Because that is the main demographic of the tourists there, I've been to the islands many times and it is pretty dull and that is the type of tourist it attracts.

If I find a place that is interesting for me(and I'm very interested in the Channel Islands) I don't care about the main demographic of the tourists. As the developed nations are getting older it's inevitable that the main demographic of tourists shifts towards seniors pretty much anywhere. 20-25 years and I'll be one of them too, so what's the heck? To be honest I usually find the zombies of the Y generation more annoying than seniors.

I agree the term "chunnel" can be confusing. Not to mention, it sounds like something a grade schooler would say.

Everyone travels differently. I want to try new things and appreciate those that do also. What works for you might not work for others. I have friends that live in the UK and use the train all the time to travel to France. Yes, they could fly but they take the train. Be kind.

If I was in the UK I'd often take the ferry or train too - and have. But the OP will be at Heathrow . . . the are no trains or ferries to France from LHR

BUT we really need dsevig to come back and clarify if they plan on spending any time in London before heading to Brittany
