Christmas in Italy - HELP!
I've never been to Italy (and don't know much about it) and my husband and I are going for approx 12 days surrounding Christmas. We'd like to fly into in Milan, then drive to Tuscany (Verona?), Venice, Florence, Rome and end up in Naples then fly out of Rome. Any suggestions on driving, hotels w/parking, where NOT to be on Christmas, dissapointing cities? Any suggestions and comments are greatly appreciated!

Judie
I have not done the entire trip you describe, but...
How many days were you thinking of staying in each place? 12 days is not much time for 6 cities plus the Tuscan countryside. Verona is close to Venice
(between Milan and Venice sort of) and is not part of Tuscany, or am I misreading your thoughts?
What are your interests? Art and museums? Historical sites? Relaxation and romantic spots? If you are interested in any of the above, I would narrow my focus and eliminate some of the places you mention because otherwise you won't have more than a day or two in each place, particularly if you add in travel time by car.
How about Venice, Rome,and Florence?
Or Tuscany, Florence, and Rome?
Just some suggestions.

Judie,

Holidays in Italy are peculiar. Wondering why? Check out www.twenj.com.

Judie if you have never been before and your trip is 12 days, I think you are trying to see too much at once...you will miss the fun and beauty of each place because you will be rushing through it. My suggestion is to forget Milan and Naples, and instead spend more time in Venice, Florence and Tuscany, perhaps Rome. I was born in Florence; went back to Italy in 99 and going back in 2001. If you want more info, write me via email.
Enjoy your trip.
