chianti 1 night stay ideas?

Any suggestions for hotels or B&B in Greve or Castellina. 3-4* preferred, and AC would be nice. What about Residence San Sano in Lecchi?

We just returned last week and stayed at the Albergo L'ultimo Mulino in Chianti near Badia et Caltibuono and Radda. This is a lovely four star hotel recently restored from an olive oil mill to a hotel. There is a pool, restaurant and the rooms were absolutely lovely--we had a suite with 2 bathrooms, jacuzzi and a patio. The breakfast was one on of the best that we had on the trip with very fresh fruit etc. This hotel is close enough to drive to Castellina, Greve. We ate lunch at Lamole on the road to Greve up a very steep drive, but beautiful to get to the restaurant---great food and great view! Well worth the drive up! On the way up you willpass the Villa Vignamaggio winery-- very lovely grounds!
Ciao
Mary

Mary,
Do you have an Web address for this hotel? Could you please tell us what you paid in lira for the suite per day?
Do you feel this hotel is as nice or better than Villa Vignamaggio? There have been a lot of postings on Villa V. in this forum. Is this area where the hotel is located hilly like Castellina in Chianti? We were in Tuscany the last week of April and we did not have time to drive to Radda area. I loved the Castellina in Chianti area.
Thank you.

Mary, just a quick question:
We are considering Ultimo Mulino for an upcoming trip to Tuscany. What kind of area is the hotel in -- in the countryside, in a vilage, etc?
Secondly, did you feel that it was well situated to see the surrounding areas? Were you able to drive down to Montepulcino? Thanks for any advice.

We stayed at Villa Vignamaggio last summer for 3 nights.
Pure Magic.
Beautiful grounds, pools, wine and grappa to drink in the hallways, close to Greve, and a gorgeous room.
Go!!
