Cheapest Way from LHR to Africa?

I will be traveling to London for about 10 days in May. Since I have been to London before, I thought it would fun if I could visit another country as well.

Are there cheap flights (under 200 bucks) from London to any part of Africa (except Northern Africa)?

Also, would I need a Visa to travel to Africa?

Visa

Depends on country/ies you plan to visit and the passport under which you are traveling. Some countries that require visas can be obtained on arrival; others require you have visa prior arrival.

Once you find a cheap flight to "anywhere" they determine what the visa requirements by accessing the office website of that country.

Lots of luck.

there are many very cheap package deals to resort destinations in africa (hotel/flight packages). i cannot comment as this is out of my area of expertise. in general, these deals are not geared toward a long weekend but a week or two at the minimum. some are extremely cheap but no more interesting, i suspect than any other beach destination (as most are geared toward the cheap sun seeker). these deals change like the wind so you are better off doing your own internet research rather than asking others for help.

It is very rare that flights to Sub-Saharan Africa from LHR ever go under around $800.

That said, May could be considered shoulder season (b/c of rains) in some East African countries. You can try BA and see if they have anything. If they have any fares for around $200 CALL ME! And do the people on the Africa board a favor and post your findings.
