Cheaper than $1500 to Italy?

I'm talking about two people being together so they can split the hotel bill.
I KNOW the 1300-1500 is a per person amount.
But it is a PER PERSON amount for 2 people traveling together and sharing expenses.

<< But Rex, she lives near Tampa not Toronto if I understood correctly. >>
Ah, I did not catch that.
But anyhow, I was posting this new introductory fare for Toronto-Rome on Zoom for the benefit of anyone reading this thread.
Should maybe be a separate posting, I guess.

Camping was only an option in one place (with hostel also suggested). The anmounts for accommodation certanly look low, and I think they're going for rock bottom prices, therefore mainly hostels and the like.

<<Something interesting about the Zoom fares which really are not bad for summer.
The taxes, surcharges and fees are more than the flights on the routings I looked at to London.>>
Sher, I think they're considerably better than "not bad"! They're VERY atypically lower than other air travel choices for this summer - - unless some sale fares from the usual legacy carriers start popping up.
And take a look at the fares on USAir/UA listed on http://www.fodors.com/forums/pgMessa...p;tid=35105621 (admittedly not summer).
Priceline does not give the final breakdown of how much is fare and how much are taxes and fees, but I think that the airline is probably getting about $50 for each transatlantic segment and a lot less than that for each of the PHL-ORD segments!
Or it may well be that these are "mistake" fares on Priceline (they don't seem to be available any other way, any other web site, according to the folks on flyertalk), and Priceline may be inadvertently subsidizing your purchase. Makes me wonder if they will end up having to make up the difference to the airline(s) - - or to the taxing authorities? - - for a goof in their software!

Yes, Rex. The Zoom fares are good.
I want to go to Nice this summer in July. My brother has rented a huge house again.
I cannot find anything from PIT lower than about $1300 and I am not counting on tremendous sale fares in the Spring.
I am factoring in getting to New York AND getting from LGW to Nice.
I have barely no expenses in New York as my son and brother both have places for me to stay.
I cannot see getting to Nice to be exhorbitant.
But, add the three together and I wonder.
Approximately $120 round trip to NY and probably $100 round trip to Nice depending on a low cost carrier. But, will I have to stay overnight in LGW?
We still get almost $1000..
I could maybe drive to Toronto...five hours.
